cover of hawaii content performance standards documentPerformance standards give specifics that help answer the questions "What does good performance look like?" and "How good is good enough?" for expected student products or responses as they achieve towards the content standards.

The performance standards represent what is expected of students at benchmark grade levels. The development of the performance standards was a highly collaborative process involving large numbers of K-12 classroom teachers and Hawaii Department of Education's curriculum specialists in each of the ten (10) content areas. These performance standards need to be validated by field results, therefore they will change as the Department collects and analyzes student performance data and actual student work. Please check this site periodically to review changes in the performance standards.
